Physiotherapy & Exercise for Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s & Dementia
Lots of people talk about the complicated nature of both Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Those affected are likely to forget names and experiences. But in some cases, they lose their knowledge of everything in the world around them. This brings emotional isolation, stress, and anguish not only for the patient, but for their family as well.
The evidence is very strong that regular exercise can help maintain mobility, strength, and bodily functions as the symptoms of these diseases progress. Many of our clients see an improvement in their mood when a regular routine is established. Unfortunately, the nature of some of these diseases make an exercise routine difficult to execute.
Our approach to managing Dementia and Alzheimer’s cases starts with conducting a thorough assessment. We ask questions and conduct any applicable tests related to your loved one’s specific case using our wealth of experience and knowledge.
Upon completion, we will provide our professional recommendation going forward based on our findings and your goals. We are likely to suggested varying forms of treatment including exercise, stretching and functional strategies to help accommodate your loved one’s limitations.
This service is well suited for individuals with mild, medium or late stage Dementia, Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease.
